          The power of reproduction is one of the essential characters of lie. In man and higher animals it is a complicated process involving two sexes both of which play a part. 

         The male reproductive organ produces sperms or spermatozoa and implant it within the female so that they can meet the ova. 

        The ova or eggs which are produced by the female reproductive organ if fertilized by spermatozoa remain in the cavity of the uterus. Foetus is formed here and retained until the pregnancy is complete and the individual is born.

                             FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE ORGANS

 It can be divided into three parts:

         1. Internal genital organs are vagina, uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes.
         2. External genital organs : are mons veneris (mons pubis), labia majora and                       minora, clitoris and hymen                                       
         3. Accessory reproductive organs : breasts or mammary glands.

                                     MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM 

The organs of the male reproductive system can be classified into:

       1. External genital organs namely scrotum and penis containing the urethra
       2. Internal genital organs. These are testes, vas deferens, seminal vesicle and prostrate gland.
